The Percussion Plus PP1143 doumbek also know as a darbuka or goblet drum originates from Eastern Europe, the Middle East, and Northern Africa.The drum is constructed from a brass goblet shaped body with an 8″/12" natural skin head. Although it looks similar to the djembe, to play the drummer uses different and much lighter strokes. The shape creates a large and resonant sound.
