3XR architecture delivers more power — with less noise

Definitive Technology’s unique 3XR architecture is the secret behind Descend’s ability to dive off the deep end. First, 3XR architecture provides triple the surface area of a traditional ported subwoofer, thereby moving more air and resulting in more low end. Second, this lack of ports subsequently means less port noise and distortion. Lastly, the dual passive radiators have a frequency response akin to a sealed sub but can play louder in smaller enclosures. 

Efficient Class D digital amplification

The DN8’s Class D digital amplifier is highly efficient. Its entire output is dedicated to delivering silky smooth bass and thundering impacts, with very little power wasted as heat. Plus, the DN8 is also highly customizable, with built-in controls for volume, lowpass filter, and phase. As such, the DN8 makes an ideal foundation not just for Definitive Technology systems, but also for any home audio system.
